Zarafa Collaboration Platform Enriched With Free Web Meeting Plugin

(1888PressRelease) November 03, 2011 - Zarafa, the leading European provider of open source groupware and collaboration software, today announced that the Zarafa WebAccess has been enriched with a plugin[1] that provides free, instant and easy (no registration needed) access to video/VoIP/presentation live web meetings. This tight email integration will enable organizations of varying sizes to deploy web meeting software and benefit from cost savings and increased productivity. Without having to install or to know how to maintain the software, the Web Meeting Plugin banishes the purchase of expensive web meeting software.

The plugin connects with the mature software of Spreed, the German leading web meeting technology used by Vodafone and the United Nations, amongst others.

With only a few clicks, Zarafa users can start Spreed web meetings in several ways [2 and 3]. Possibilities differ from opening an empty meeting in the main window and manually adding attendees to converting an email to a web meeting which directly adds all recipients and attachments to that web meeting. Invitees receive a meeting request with a hyperlink and only need to click on it to get access to the web meeting. Once in the web meeting, attendees can share presentations, discuss documents, do online demos and use tools like white boarding and mind mapping.

The free web meeting plugin connects with a maximum of 3 people, regardless of their email client and works not only on Linux but also on MacOS and Windows.
