YUMYODA X Imp One Announce Their SS'18 Collaboration Is Official
Graffiti Writer Imp One and Streetwear Brand YUMYODA make Creative Director Position The Seat To Be For Upcoming Collections.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2018 - Known for his cliff hangers and underground tunnel walls, Imp One surfaced the graffiti scene in an attempt to scratch a youthful itch.
When Graffiti artist Imp One started to gain recognition around 2008, he didn’t realize the influence of caricature and style he would inject into younger writers who watch the walls. In fact, he didn’t realize anybody would take notice. When the 19 year old vandal went out into the night while the majority of the city were asleep, his calling came from the riches of heights and crevices of the dark.
Imp One says this:
“There’s this rich experience you get from doing, or going to places people just won’t go… or do…”
He goes on explaining a vivid sense of surrealism when climbing a 20ft shaky ladder, or scaffolding that lead to the top of a 6 story building, or walking in a silent and pitch dark tunnel with the third rail just under your feet.. or even scaling the side of bridge with only 5 inches of grip at your feet…
“It wasn’t the thrill of it, I thought it was – because that’s what everyone was saying. But then I noticed something was different, you know, pushing the limits and getting away was but the gatekeepers to the experience… I found that on the other side of that ledge, or on top of that roof, there was this essence. the air smelled different, the view was always beautiful, and most potent of them all – the sound was noticeably different.”
Imp one is no rookie to the fashion industry. He’s helped companies like Sprayground, Zoo York, and Crooks & Castles get street credit in more than one way. He’s also cut and sowed, hand painted, and fashioned some unique pieces for himself.
We’ll catch up more with an interview. IMP ONE X YUMYODA will be a long time collaboration as we bring him, his stories, and experiences out to the world of almost over a decade of Graffiti marks. We will be expecting some very iconic pieces for our Spring/Summer ’18 Collection. ,, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
I want to thank Imp One for joining the Yumyoda frequency, he’s definitely earned crowns for many of his works. And I want to thank the past, present, and future supporters of the Streetwear Brand – YUMYODA. We do this For The Crown™.
