Youth Services for Peace adopts a village in Uttarakhand, plans to transform it into a Model Village
It is a matter of immense pride to announce that a Non-Government Organization in Delhi "Youth Services for Peace" has taken another step forward in doing its bit for the society. The organization has been working hard for over a year now in the direction of the upliftment of the society and stands imperative to give the rural people a standard life they deserve.
- (1888PressRelease) November 05, 2015 - Our new Project - A village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand 'Pandukeshwar village' stays isolated from the urban lustre and is deprived of the basic necessities. Pandukeshwar is a small village at a height of 6300 ft above sea level. As per the legend, this village was established by King Pandu, father of the Pandavas. Inspite of being such a virtuous land, people here stay unconnected with the rest of the world and somehow continue to live their life in unpragmatic conditions.
Youth Services for Peace has taken up a stand for this village and plans to work in developing the village in every possible way like water, education, healthcare, sanitation, food, etc. The organization feels inspired by the launch of the recent scheme in this direction "Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna" helmed under the valiant leadership of the honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. The Yojna itself works for the elevation of millions of villages throughout the country to avail the basic needs of the rural residents.
The NGO has taken up the initiative to develop this village and transform it into a Model Village. It is all set to open a new branch in Pandukeshwar in December this year. This will allow the organization to put extra efforts and focus elaborately on the village.
