Your Time Publishing, LLC and International School of Louisiana Reach out to children with Spark an Interest in Writing Program
In their attempt to spark an interest in writing, Your Time Publishing will talk about the publishing business to 2nd and 3rd Grade Students at the International School of Louisiana.
- New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease) March 15, 2011 - Your Time Publishing, LLC (YTP) is invited to make a presentation at the International School of Louisiana (ISL). ISL is located at 1400 Camp St, New Orleans, Louisiana, and is the first multi-language immersion school chartered by the State of Louisiana. From their first day of school, students are taught core academic subjects in either French or Spanish. At ISL children learn a second language naturally, through everyday conversation and classroom instruction. The students of the third grade have made books in Spanish and French from last year. If they were in the summer camp, they have a book in English also. All students in the second grade at the International School of Louisiana write a book and call it "our book project" said teacher, Ms. Elena Countiss. They write, edit, proof and design the illustrations.
YTP has created a lesson plan to teach the students about traditional publishing practices and will also teach about some of the new business models such as: POD, video, e-books, audio, etc .
