The Drug Free Marshals (http://www.drugfreemarshals.org) youth drug-education and prevention program was created and launched by the Church of Scientology International in 1993. It is a program to educate children as young as 6 on the dangers of drugs, and to challenge them to remain drug-free. The campaign rapidly spread internationally, and since its inception, in excess of 3.1 million children and adults people have been sworn-in - including national and state legislators, mayors, judges and police chiefs in cities and towns throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and Europe. The program takes its inspiration from humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard who worked to bring about a world free of the scourge of drugs and their influences on society and whose centennial is being celebrated this year.
