Yota Devices Partners with Staytuned to Provide Users with a Personalized Smart App Concierge
Virtual Assistants Will Become a Crucial Interface to Apps. It is expected that by 2017, consumers will use virtual assistants as the interface to 50% of their mobile apps for ease of use and have the potential to become to apps what search has been for web, according to predictions by Gartner.
- (1888PressRelease) March 11, 2015 - Yota Devices, the developer of YotaPhone, the world's first dual-screen mobile phone, and Staytuned, the developer of an automated virtual assistant for apps, announced a partnership agreement to develop Staytuned's app concierge solution for YotaPhone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
At first glance, YotaPhone has the appearance of a normal smartphone, but its back always-on electronic paper display (EPD) make it one the most innovative and disruptive smartphones in the market and opens up possibilities for unique applications and new ways to use the device.
Staytuned's app concierge will add context awareness to YotaPhone by automatically organizing the user's apps and displaying the most relevant apps and services, depending on where they are, time and personal habits. The solution learns from the user behavior in different contexts and is able to predict the user needs, providing a real-time personalized mobile experience.
Smartphone users have more than 50 apps on average, making it hard to efficiently use and obtain the benefits of the apps. Staytuned solution learns from the user's behavior and eliminates the process of repeatedly searching for apps and information.
"Our smartphones know whether we are driving, at the office, at home, traveling or walking in the city. We believe that our smartphones should use this information to provide users with what they need, when they need it" - Alejandro Garcia Del Bosque, CEO of Staytuned.
With Staytuned's solution, Yota will incorporate a dynamic user interface into its EPD that adapts to the user's needs and is many times helpful even without the user's interaction. Some examples are automatically displaying loyalty programs at physical locations of merchants, closest public transportation stations, and upcoming departures, among others.
"Staytuned and our "always on" EPD will take personalization & awareness of your most important apps and services to the next level on YotaPhone" - Matthew Kelly, Head of Global Alliances & Managing Director, Americas.
The solution will offer a new kind of mobile experience designed to make the user interface of smartphones dynamic, adapting to the user's lifestyle, so that users can get more out of their smartphones in fewer steps.
