- (1888PressRelease) May 05, 2011 - PEORIA, IL - Yost Engineering, Inc. supported the 2011 Central Illinois Robotics Club BotBrawl 11 held in Peoria, IL on April 2, 2011 where 2 winning participants each received one of Yost Engineering's patent-pending YEI 3-Space USB Sensors.
BotBrawl is an annual event inviting attendees from around the Midwest to challenge homemade robot against homemade robot in the style of Battle Bots. Robots (and their creators) can also take part in line following, maze, and sumo events. The top 3 winners in each category and 3 Best in Show winners received prizes recognizing their hard work. Two winners each received one of the YEI 3-Space USB Sensors donated by Yost Engineering. Using patent-pending dynamic filtering algorithm technology, the YEI 3-Space is a small footprint Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) based on MEMS (Micro-electro-mechanical system) technology allowing it to measure movement accurately while maintaining a small footprint.
Since 1997, the Central Illinois Robotics Club has been dedicated to educating its members and the public about robotics and encouraging people to take a closer look at hobby robotics. They host competitions and demonstrations regularly throughout the year.
