Yasmin Shiraz Launches Can She Be Saved.com
An Education & Empowerment Movement to Combat Girl Fights, Bullying and Retaliation.
- (1888PressRelease) April 15, 2011 - Author, Filmmaker and Activist, Yasmin Shiraz has launched Can She Be Saved.com to address the community need to have workable tools in the prevention of girl fights, bullying and retaliation. The site was named after her award winning film, Can She Be Saved? --a documentary featuring aggressive 8th grade girls who were always getting into fights at their middle school. Currently, Can She Be Saved? is screened at middle and high schools assemblies and comes with a study guide for schools who purchase the academic edition.
Yasmin Shiraz's debut film, Can She Be Saved? which documents teen girl fights was an official selection at 15 film festivals and won 4 Awards, including Best First Film at the International Youth Film Festival. Shiraz recently launched CanSheBeSaved.com to educate and empower youth and educators with tools to combat teen aggression and violence. We provide film screenings, workshops and DVDs through the site.
