- Charleston, WV (1888PressRelease) June 25, 2024 - Yashoda Hospital Hitec City has successfully treated Mrs. Shailaja Dundi, a 38-year-old female from Warangal, Telangana, who presented with a severe case of scrub typhus complicated by multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS).
Mrs. Dundi's condition was further complicated by septic encephalopathy, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute kidney injury (AKI), and severe mitral regurgitation (MR) with moderate pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
Mrs. Dundi was admitted on 9th May 2024 with symptoms of grade III shortness of breath (SOB), abdominal pain, and diffuse body pain. Upon admission, a thorough evaluation and multiple investigations were conducted. Initial diagnostics revealed abnormal arterial blood gas (ABG) values, significant echocardiographic findings including severe MR, and a urine culture indicating growth of Candida tropicalis.
Dr. Nagarjuna Maturu V, Senior Consultant in Clinical & Interventional Pulmonology and Clinical Director at Yashoda Hospital, led the multidisciplinary treatment approach. The medical team provided comprehensive care, including nephrology and gastroenterology consultations, and administered intravenous antibiotics and supportive medications.
