XS CAD Community Service at St. Catherine's Home
The XS CAD family collected and donated food, stationery and hygiene products to orphaned girls (as young as babies and as old as 19) at St. Catherine’s Home, Andheri West, Mumbai, during the 9 days of the ‘Navratri Festival’, celebrated annually in India.
- (1888PressRelease) November 10, 2017 - Founded in 1922, St. Catherine’s Home was Ida Dickenson’s initiative to provide an environment of love and care to homeless children, aiming to empower deprived, abused and underprivileged children to be more confident, qualified and responsible citizens.
XS CAD staff members visited St. Catherine’s Home campus, which houses 325 girls under the age of 20. A well-secured and peaceful haven, it was neat and attractive, with plenty of greenery. The baby care centre housed newborns tended by nannies and toddlers played in the garden. The teenagers were well-mannered and friendly and are educated up to Year 10 on campus. Children undergo regular medical check-ups and counselling.
XS CAD plans to continue its support of the home in the forthcoming months as part of our ‘work in our community’ initiative, which provides our teams the opportunity to help and support the community in which they live and work.
