Xconomy to Host Forum with Eventbrite Founders Kevin and Julia Hartz
This forum will feature conversations with and presentations from Eventbrite co-founders Kevin Hartz, Julia Hartz, and Renaud Visage, as well as Eventbrite board member and former Ticketmaster CEO Sean Moriarty. Topics will include the growing online-to-offline economy, building a successful company, and why Kevin Hartz, a prominent angel investor, has temporarily stopped investing in startups.
- San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) July 14, 2012 - Xconomy will hold an Xconomy Xchange event on "Eventbrite and the Online-to-Offline Economy" on August 7, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of the Greenstart cleantech startup accelerator in downtown San Francisco. Wells Fargo's Technology & Venture Banking Group is participating as an event sponsor.
This forum, nicknamed the "Event Event," will feature a discussion on building businesses that help consumers find out what's going on in the outside world, bridging the gap between online and offline life. San Francisco-based Eventbrite is a leading player in this new "020" economy, having helped event organizers sell more than 60 million tickets since its founding in 2006. Xconomy's event will feature a wide-ranging conversation with Eventbrite co-founders, the husband-and-wife team of Kevin and Julia Hartz. Kevin Hartz, a prominent Silicon Valley angel investor, will also talk about the thinking behind his temporary moratorium on investing in new startups. In addition, attendees will hear from special presentations from Eventbrite co-founder and CTO Renaud Visage and Eventbrite board member and former Ticketmaster CEO Sean Moriarty.
