WRAL-TV 5's Monica Laliberte to emcee 2011 Big Bad Ball
WRAL-TV 5's Monica Laliberte will be the host for the 10th annual Big Bad Ball.

"I am thrilled to serve as emcee and host of this year's Big Bad Ball," said Laliberte, "It's an honor to support Hospice of Wake County and the work they do in our community. And being part of the 10th anniversary makes it even more special."
The Emmy-award winning anchor started as a production assistant at WCPX-TV (now WKMG) in Orlando, Fla., and was promoted to writer, assignment editor and producer before reporting and anchoring the news at WEVU-TV in Ft. Myers. Laliberte joined WRAL as a consumer reporter in 1994, was promoted to weekend morning anchor in 1995, before anchoring the weekend evening news. She received a bachelor of arts in Radio and Television from University of Central Florida in 1987.
Laliberte will join two of the Triangle's most popular bands as they take the stage at the 10th anniversary Big Bad Ball. The Moonlighters Orchestra and tHE.DESIGN will keep guests dancing into the early hours of the morning.
The Big Bad Ball benefits Hospice of Wake County and will be held Saturday, October 1st from 7p.m. - 1a.m. at the Capital City Club in Raleigh. This annual event is one of the leading fundraisers for Hospice of Wake County. In 2010, over 300 guests attended the annual event, which raised nearly $100,000. This level of fund-raising translates into 630 days of Hospice care.

Presented by The Capital City Club's Young Executives, the Big Bad Ball is an annual black tie gala benefiting Hospice of Wake County. The 10th anniversary fundraiser will feature live music performed by tHE.DESIGN and The Moonlighters Orchestra, a silent auction, door prizes, and a $10,000 raffle. Guests can enjoy five open bars a wide selection of hors d'oeuvres and a late night breakfast. Each year, the event raises funds to support Hospice's Benevolent Care Program, which provides necessary end-of-life care for terminally ill patients and their families.
