World's Largest Web-Based PV Monitoring Solution Reaches 50,000 Registered Solar Systems
SMA Sunny Portal Service Provides Security by Ensuring Peak Production.
- (1888PressRelease) April 29, 2011 - ROCKLIN, Calif. - With 50,000 registered solar arrays in more than 100 countries, including the United States and Canada, SMA's Sunny Portal is the world's largest Web platform for monitoring, managing and presenting photovoltaic systems. That equates to 3.5 gigawatts of power monitored via the Sunny Portal Web site and iPhone application, both free services.
"SMA's Sunny Portal is favored among photovoltaic system operators, installers and service technicians because centralized administration and system monitoring saves both time and money," said Jurgen Krehnke, president and general manager of SMA America. "With the Sunny Portal, they are able to access data at any time, from any location, thereby ensuring peak production by discovering unnoticed performance disturbances, resulting in maximum system payback."
The user-friendly, customizable Sunny Portal provides a snapshot of any Sunny WebBox-equipped PV system, regardless of configuration or size, and can be accessed from a Web-enabled computer or mobile phone, or via its iPhone application. Performance data-such as daily, monthly, yearly and life-to-date energy yield-is displayed by detailed charts and graphs. The Sunny Portal can even email reports with these yield figures-as well as other data including maximum output, cost savings and CO2 reduction in tons per year-directly to the user. All of this information is uploaded daily via the SMA Sunny WebBox, a communication hub that continuously collects data from the solar inverters. If a Sunny SensorBox is integrated into the array, the Sunny Portal will also visually represent irradiation intensity, module temperature, ambient temperature and wind speed.
Additional information displayed by the Sunny Portal includes the system's commission date, size, and properties and parameters of the modules, inverters and communications hardware used. In addition to the logbook, which offers a system event history, users can record their own system data, from additional technical details to installer contact information.
If users would like to share their performance data, they can choose to make select Sunny Portal pages available for public access or integrate individual pages into their own company or personal Web sites.
The Sunny Portal is available in 10 languages: German, English, Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese, Greek, Korean, Portuguese and Czech.
