GOALS
1. Save Planet Earth
Climate change is the single greatest threat to the survival of our civilization. As I think we're all keenly aware by now, these category 5 storms are becoming progressively intense and frequent. Couple this with rising tides, desalinization & acidification of our waters, and the annual rise of the global average temperature. This all creates a recipe for disaster.
"Most people understand that to address climate change, we must reduce emissions of heat-trapping gases by using less energy to perform the services we need, and generate the energy that we do need using zero-carbon sources like solar panels. The recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change called for cutting our net emissions of carbon dioxide by 45% by 2030, and then not exceeding the capacity of natural systems to absorb our emissions by 2050 in order to prevent global average temperature from rising by more than 1.5° C (2.7° F) by 2100. The world has already warmed by 1.0° C. In addition, they point out how important it is to increase the removal rate of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases. High on the list of natural systems that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere are forests, wetlands, soils, and the ocean. There is a growing conflict between placing large solar arrays and protecting forests, wetlands, agricultural lands, and other valuable natural systems. "

We need to have our solar panels and our forests, wetlands and agricultural systems to meet our climate goals.
If we don't address this threat in a more serious manner, then our planet will slowly become inhospitable for life.
2. Provide Low-Income Families with Low-cost, Renewable Energy
By introducing a surplus of low-cost electricity, I will effectively lower the electricity prices for all consumers in Massachusetts.
3. Prove Donald Trump wrong!
If our president thinks he can bring coal back, he is sorely mistaken. Solar electricity is here to stay and I intend to help it grow! We'll even create some jobs in the process!
4. Help Massachusetts lead the way!
There are a few states in this country with an ambitious goal of reaching 100% clean, renewable energy by 2025. Let's get Massachusetts there first!
HOW ARE WE GOING TO DO IT
I'll be raising funding to establish a network of low-cost energy for Massachusetts residents.
In doing so, I hope to lower the cost of electricity for all and help make Massachusetts the first state to reach the benchmark of 100% clean, renewable energy. In doing so, we can do our part to avoid the 1.7°C warming that climate scientists say will be vastly detrimental to our global environment.
This Go Fund Me will fund:
$40,000 for land to build on
$90,000 for the initial 90,000kWhr Solar Farm
$20,000 for developing the land to be used.
PLANS GOING FORWARD
Steps:
1. Build the initial 90,000kWhr Solar Farm
2. Grow the solar farm to 120,000kWhrs
3. Reinvest the earning from the initial solar farm to build another solar farm
4. Repeat until we have at least five 120,000kWhr solar farms
5. Reinvest the earnings into Wind turbines (either off the shore of Massachusetts or within the local area).
6. Rinse and repeat until Massachusetts is powered by 100% clean, renewable energy!
