World Renowned Speaker Michael Thompson Coming To India
Will be speaking at Oberoi International School for two days.
- (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2012 - Oberoi International School (OIS), one of Mumbai's leading IB school, has invited Michael Thompson, a world renowned speaker, author and psychologist specialising in children & families for a two day knowledge session on creative learning and human interest topics like 'The Pressured Child Finds success in School and Life', 'How to raise responsible children' & 'Adolescence is hard work'.
Michael Thompson has worked as a clinical psychologist and school consultant for more than 35 years in over five hundred schools across the US, as well as in international schools in Central America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He is the co-author of the New York Times best-selling book, Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys and Best Friends, Worst Enemies : Understanding the Social Worlds of Children for which the Publishers Weekly review declared, "Not since Dr. Spock and Penelope Leach has there been such a sensitive and practical guide to raising healthy children".
Organised by Oberoi International School (OIS), the two day knowledge session will be attended by students, parents and teachers. These sessions will address children's development, behavioural difficulties or other challenges at home or school. It will further help students to gain confidence and develop learning strategies for overall growth. In the past the school had invited Terry Small, a learning skills specialist and an eminent TED speaker for a similar two day knowledge session on creative learning and human interest topics. OIS has also partnered with leadership & peak performance coach, Anand Chulani, to run several parent, teacher and student workshop and assemblies for this academic year.

He writes on issues and topics that help parents understand the complex journey of children through school, from Kindergarten through senior year. A dedicated speaker and traveller, Dr. Thompson has appeared on The Today Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, ABC 20/20, CBS 60 Minutes, The Early Show and Good Morning America.
