World Record Corn Maze: Donates Dollars
Apart from the distinction of breaking four separate Guinness Book World Records this year, Farmer J's world record corn maze is looking forward to offering patrons a great time and the opportunity of giving great benefits to the community as well.
- Ann Arbor, MI (1888PressRelease) October 23, 2010 - For the last decade the cornfields of the Jaworski family of Dundee, Michigan have been converted into Farmer J's Corn Maze. The maze is visible just off of highway US-23 at Exit 17, and has drawn thousands of visitors each year to their world record corn maze. Farmer J's is hoping to break four world records at the world record corn maze. In addition, they have added the option to visitors to support the local or national charity of their choice.
Larger and longer than any other corn maze ever built, Farmer J's has turned in claims of breaking two Guinness World Records in 2010. Based on an American theme this year, the world record corn maze invites visitors to travel the words "We the People" and meander through famous historical landmarks. The world record corn maze is both the largest, and also boasts the longest maze path. On September 18th the maze also attempted to break the record for the Worlds Largest Torch (flashlight) Lit Parade. It is yet to be released if Farmer J's was able to break this third world record for their corn maze.
This year, for the first time, visitors have the ability to help their own individual favorite charity while enjoying a stroll through the maze. Inside the world record corn maze are 24 checkpoints that visitors can seek out. As each checkpoint is located visitors can check off the achievement on a downloadable pledge form; available on the Farmer J's website (http://www.worldrecordcornmaze.org).
Guests tracking their checkpoint accomplishments can sign up sponsors who bid specific dollar amounts for each checkpoint found. "This is a great opportunity for individuals or any type of group to raise funds to help out others in need, while having fun getting lost in the biggest corn maze ever made," says Lyle. Farmer J's just asks that visitors to the world record corn maze, report back to them how much money was actually raised. The Jaworski's will keep a running total of all donations and report it at the end of the season. They hope this will raise millions of dollars for charities during the fall of 2010. Farmer J's hopes the fund raising event is successful, leading to the distinction of having a fourth world record for the world largest corn maze.
Apart from the distinction of breaking four separate Guinness Book World Records this year, Farmer J's world record corn maze is looking forward to offering patrons a great time and the opportunity of giving great benefits to the community as well.
Farmer J's world record corn maze is open through November 1st, just west of the crossroads of highways M50 and US-23 (exit 17 on US23) in Dundee, Michigan. For more information about this record breaking attempt visit http://www.worldrecordcornmaze.org
