World Of Art Showcase To Feature Daniel Lai
Local Contemporary Artist To Exhibit At Inaugural Raleigh Art Show.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 26, 2013 - The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced that Daniel Lai will be a featured artist at the inaugural event Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 S. Salisbury Street. The Malaysian born artist has been recognized nationally and internationally.
Lai's work has been displayed at multiple galleries throughout the South, including the Haen Gallery in Asheville, N.C., the Bennett Gallery in Nashville, Tenn., the River Gallery in Chattanooga, Tenn., Gift and Gourmet Interiors in Knoxville, Tenn. and the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Lai has a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics and an M.A. in art studies/art history from Montclair State University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in criminology.
Lai uses books that have been discarded to create unique sculpture pieces. All of his pieces are mounted on thin clayboard or vintage crates and are designed for wall display. In addition to receiving various national and international awards, his work has been published in numerous books and magazines.
