Workshop on Building Planning and Layout organized by Oriental College Civil Department

Department of Civil Engineering of Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal organized a workshop on "Building Planning and Layout" on 25th October, 2016 for the students of Civil Engineering. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) October 27, 2016 - The keynote speaker Prof. Sandeep Arora, Professor, School of planning and Architecture (SPA) Bhopal, discussed various considerations taking in to account while planning various types of buildings with various examples. He also threw light on the importance of various disciplines like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and other service consultants with Architects to work as a team for successful implementation of project.

Mr. Manish Dubey, HOD, Department of Civil Engineering OIST, Bhopal explained at length, the various practical points to be considered, while doing layout of building on ground. Both the speaker also motivated the students to learn the basic fundamental and practical knowledge so that they can start their carrier as a good Civil Engineer after graduation.

After the lecture session, the students performed the actual layout procedure for the given plan of the building on the college ground with marking of various column footing positions.

More than three hundred Civil engineering Students, including more than fifty students of other engineering colleges and sixteen faculty members attended the workshop. This seminar proved to be a very enlightening one because the students realized the need and importance of practical field knowledge.

Shri Praveen Thakral, Chairman Oriental Group of Institutes and Dr. V K Sahu, Director, OIST, appreciated the seminar and told that OIST always promotes organizing such workshops, to enhance the knowledge and skill of the students and faculty members.
