Wondercide Wins Coveted Spot in the Incubation Station Program

- Sherman-Denison, TX (1888PressRelease) February 18, 2012 - Wondercide, a provider of all-natural pest control products, was selected along with 4 other Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies in Austin to participate in the Incubation Station, an integrated hub that provides young companies with the tools they need for success. The winners were announced at a selection event that took place on January 10, 2012. Over 150 entrepreneurs and other professionals attended the event, which was held at Abel's on the Lake.
Mentors include some of the city's most notable entrepreneurs, including Shari Wynne, Co-founder, CEO & Managing Partner of MWR Legal; Clayton Christopher, Founder and Former CEO of the Sweet Leaf Tea Company; Alissa Bayer, Founder of Milk + Honey Spa; Dan Graham, Founder and CEO of Build A Sign; Scott Jensen, Founder and Former CEO of Stubb's BBQ; Alan Blake, Founder and CEO of GloFish, and numerous others.
Incubation Station is an industry-targeted networking organization that brings together Austin's best and brightest entrepreneurs, investors and advisers for accelerating the success of super cool companies with high profit potential. The primary goal is to help the selected companies more effectively market and grow their niche brands.
Wondercide and the other awarded companies---Thunderbird Energetica, VERB (Co-Founders of Birds Barbershop), Whynatte and Primizie---will participate in an intensive, 12-week mentoring program, which will provide access to business resources that are normally unattainable for startup stage and young companies. After the program, they will receive an additional 2 years of mentorship and support.
Founder & CEO Stephanie Boone created Wondercide in 2009, after Luna, her 13-year-old Akita-Husky, suffered a near-fatal reaction to a flea medication prescribed by her vet. The company's mission, according to Boone, is to educate consumers about the dangers of toxic, chemical pesticides and provide a safer, equally effective alternative for pets, people, and property.
