Complimentary pictures with the main character of the book, Elfie, will be available along with several holiday-themed activities such as ornament decorating and writing letters to Santa. Keys for Hope will donate all proceeds to Crisis Ministries to help build a soup kitchen and homeless shelter for those in need this holiday season.
Elfstravaganza is a free event to kick off the holiday season. The event will showcase all of the top toys for the 2011 holiday season, some of which are only available at Wonder Works. Guests can reserve a copy of the new Elf on the Shelf movie, meet the inventor of one of this year's top toys, the Spooner Board, as well as the inventor of the popular MOGO bracelets, and meet Tate Nation in addition to purchasing a signed copy of his brand new jig-saw puzzle. The event will include free cupcakes provided by Cupcake, boiled peanuts from Hubee-D's and with the help of the arts and crafts program Little Picasso, kids can make ornaments and decorate their letters to Santa.
During Elfstravaganza Keys for Hope will be selling decorative keys and chains to raise money to help with the construction of Charleston's new homeless shelter and soup kitchen. This mission was set up by children in the community who wanted to make a difference for the homeless and hungry in their hometown. All proceeds will go to Crisis Ministries to support this cause. Aiden's Lemonade "Stand Against Pediatric Cancer" will also be there donating all proceeds to MUSC's Pediatric Oncology Research in honor of Harper Drolet, a 13-year-old girl Wonder Works supported through her battle with cancer who recently passed away. Wonder Works is also a "Toys for Tots" drop off location this holiday season.
Osborne said, "We are so excited to host our first Elfstravaganza this year. Not only are we featuring this year's favorite toys, but we are lucky to have so many guest appearances from Elfie to toy-inventors and authors.
