Women's Travel Fest Aims to Get Women Traveling
First-ever Women's Travel Fest takes the "scary" out of solo travel.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 31, 2013 - This year on International Women's Day, March 8, 2014, New York City will celebrate women & travel with the first-ever Women's Travel Fest, hosted by Go! Girl Guides.
The Women's Travel Fest aims to inspire and empower women to travel the world, & help them make newfound travel connections.
Industry-leading ladies including Travel Channel's Samantha Brown will speak about everything from packing tips to family travel and traveling solo through the Middle East-all in an effort to take the "scary" out of solo travel and get women excited to have life-changing experiences in other cultures.
Over 300 women will be in attendance for a transformative day that includes lunch and an after-party. Tickets are $50 early bird and $75 general admission-but early bird sales end 12/31 at 11:59 EST!
The idea for the Women's Travel Fest was realized after Kelly Lewis, founder of Go! Girl Guides, which publishes travel guidebooks made just for women, moved to NYC after a cross-country book tour.
"I was able to meet some incredible women from all over the country while on tour, who came out to talk travel with us," Lewis said. "Each night I would leave with goose bumps-the electricity that came from gathering women to talk about seeing the world was just incredible. It was then I realized I wanted to do this on a bigger level."
