The expo is an all-day free event happening on October 1, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be available in the OKC Zoo Education Center, just east of the main entrance.
- (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2011 - Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Zoo will be home to the Fall Women's Health Expo & Conference, brought to you by the OKC Health & Wellness Group, a nonprofit devoted to improving the quality of life for Oklahomans by improving their health.
Attendees will not need to purchase zoo passes to attend.
This free event has over 30 booths, each featuring an expert clinician in some aspect of women's health, wellness, fitness, beauty and skin care. Mayor Mick Cornett's This City Is Going On A Diet campaign will be represented, along with diet and lifestyle experts that will give coaching and lifestyle tips that get folks started on the path to wellness.
"This is our biggest expo yet. We've listened to the women that come out for the show. They tell us they've learned new ideas for health and wellness at our events, and we're going to continue doing that -- just on a bigger scale. They can learn how to keep their families healthy. Specifically, how to keep their kids active, lean and engaged in their studies." Says founder Dr. Angela C. Slovak.
The benefits for guests attending a free event such as this include group support and networking with others in the community. Helo and the OKC Million program provide everyone with the opportunity to be a part of a novel movement in Oklahoma towards better overall health. Registration and entrance to the expo is free, expert information is free and guests can take advantage of all the give-a-ways available, like free family passes to adventure district attractions, free fitness passes, free chiropractic adjustments, free barre3 exercise passes, free vitamin B12 shots, free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and more. Take advantage of our in-house nanny service, along with plenty of kid-friendly fun.
Local and nationally recognized guest speakers will be featured throughout this event to help us learn about preventable diseases. Our guests at this expo will receive information on preventing type-II diabetes, obesity, heart disease, several types of cancer, natural hormone balancing, planting fall gardens and much more in a fun, inviting environment. Don't forget all the free give-a-ways too.
Free opportunities are being sponsored for Oklahomans to stay in shape, like the Project 180 results in many more miles of walking and biking trails that connect our city like never before. Nationally recognized guest speakers will present seminars on how to fight toxicity, fight lethargy and weight gain, and stay cancer free, among many other topics.
