Women In Sales Awards comes to India
1st Ever Women in Sales Awards in India in March 2015.
- (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2015 - Zars Media announced the first edition Women in Sales Awards in India to be held on 12th March 2015 in Mumbai.
The Women in Sales Awards India has been created to bring a greater awareness of the need for gender diversity in sales and in executive leadership teams, as well as help grow the pipeline of sales talent. The awards are an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in sales roles.
The aim is to inspire women to enter and excel in traditionally male-dominated field like Sales. As per Women Matter a research by McKinsey & Company there isn't a single glass ceiling but a pipeline towards the top that is dropping women at every transitional point. This is one step to plug these leaks in the talent pipeline.
A panel of Judges will look for evidence of general sales ability, track record in achieving and exceeding targets, and a good understanding of the implications of change on the wider business; a written testimonial from the nominating company endorsing their nominees.
The judging panel features leaders from companies like Ernst & Young, UCB, Spencer Stuart, Accenture India, Abbott India, HBO India, RadioCity, Gunnebo India, Swarovski India, Nivea and many more.
The judges will evaluate the nominations and testimonials submitted by the companies and select the top finalists in each category. These finalists will be notified and invited to attend the judging day in Mumbai, where they will get the chance to meet and be interviewed by the judges. They will be judged on set criteria based on Attitude, Skills, Process, Knowledge, Commercial acumen and Ability to achieve targets.
The Winners and finalists will be announced and recognized at an awards ceremony on 12th March 2015 at Trident Hotel, Nariman Point Mumbai where their excellence will be celebrated.
Commenting on the success of two European editions of Women in Sales Awards, Afi Ofori, Managing Director, Zars Media said, "although the awards were only launched in 2013, its success in Europe has been such that we have now launched in North America and now India, with preliminary plans for Australia and Africa later this year. I hope that through these awards people will come to recognise how important a career in sales is and respect the skills required to be a great sales person. Sales is an ART. The ability to understand a client's needs and deliver what they require is one that only the talented few ever truly master."
Priya Sachdev, Chief Revenue Officer of Business Salt, Organising partner for the event further added, "I've been in sales for 25 years and can almost count the number of women in sales I have come across during this time. The Indian market is at the juncture wherein a platform like this will boost morale of the existing women sales force and pave the path for a gender inclusive tomorrow."
