WLC College students on an educational trip to Punjab
WLC College, Mumbai, accompanied by a faculty member are currently on a ten-day educational trip to Punjab.
- (1888PressRelease) March 03, 2011 - 15 students of Fashion Technology, WLC College, Mumbai, accompanied by a faculty member are currently on a ten-day educational trip to Punjab. The students will visit Chandigarh, the Wagah Border, Rohtang Pass , Manali and other places of interest along with visits to small and large scale industries across the state.
The educational trip will culminate into a project with each student preparing a comprehensive reference file with samples of fabrics, embroideries etc. which will be archived in the WLC College library.
Punjab is well known for its rich embroideries, varieties of textiles, arts and crafts, small-scale and cottage industries and above all the enterprising spirit of the people which will inspire students.
Students will travel by train and road transport in order to collect and absorb maximum information on arts, crafts and fabrics; visit dyeing, printing and manufacturing units and remote villages where they will see traditional hand embroideries.
