Wiyaala Goes Global With First International Release
Former Icons winner secures distribution & publishing deal with JTV Digital.
- (1888PressRelease) October 19, 2013 - Once again Noella Wiyaala is setting the pace for the Ghanaian music industry with her first international release.
The Upper West singer/songwriter officially releases Make Me Dance, her debut single in Ghana, worldwide across digital platforms, including iTunes, Amazon and all major distribution channels across the globe.
Originally produced by Genius Selection in Ghana, and now remixed in Los Angeles by Bill Delia for the international market, "Make Me Dance" (along with an acoustic version) will be distributed on the Djimba World Records label under exclusive license to JTV Digital.
Jeremie Varengo, CEO of Digital Music Distributor JTV Digital (Paris, France) commented: "We think Wiyaala is a huge talent and are delighted to have the opportunity to have a distribution/publishing deal with an artist from West Africa. We will be working hard to help her develop a sustainable career as an artist from Ghana with international appeal.
Wiyaala said: "I am really excited at this opportunity to be able get my music career established as an ambassador of African culture. I know that I have a long way to go. It's been hard work to get to this place and I want thank all those people who have contributed to this opportunity to showcase my talent internationally."
The singer added: "Artist's rights are a legal minefield, but what this deal shows is that Ghanaian and, as an extension, African artists, thanks to the internet and digital channels like JTV Digital can connect with the international market with all the appropriate legal safeguards needed to protect their copyright and any income they can earn from it.
Wiyaala is planning a five song EP for Christmas.
Currently, she is performing a regular live shows at Cuzzy Bros and The Lexington in Accra, Ghana.
