Without A Trace Re-Weavers Begin Publishing Garment Based Detective Novella
Without a Trace, a reweaving company located in Chicago, has been in the garment repair industry for over 20 years. Looking to improve their clients knowledge of re-weaving techniques and fabrics and weaves they've commissioned a story about two detectives, Leather & Suede, who solve garment crimes. After two decades practicing the lost arts of French Weaving and In-Weaving.
- (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2013 - Storytelling comes naturally to Without a Trace owner Michael Ehrlich. When showed the first installment of Leather & Suede, Ehrlich loved it, and his girlfriend couldn't stop laughing. The story, which takes place in Chicago, is a tale of love, mystery, and fabric.Detectives Leather & Suede are on the case of Stephen Bromwell, a villain that has disappeared, only leaving a ripped sheepskin jacket behind. Weaving through the city, the two detectives meet garment themed characters from all walks of life, and even travel across the country to New Mexico. Entries to the story will be posted twice a week, starting on Apr. 1.
Working in reweaving has introduced Michael Ehrlich to hundreds of different kinds of fabrics and weaves. Suits costing thousands of dollars and even fur coats, worth upwards of five figures, are brought in to Without a Trace for repair. Ehrlich, looking to bring awareness to both his business and the intricacy of reweaving, seeks to educate with his new blog. "There are thousands of different fabrics and weaves. We have no idea if we can even fix the garment unless we see it in our hands to examine it." And that is where the idea for Leather and Suede was born; Without a Trace receives garments from all over the country, and each has a story all its own. Start reading:
