School Bolsters Fashion Marketing, Management and Accounting Departments.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 18, 2014 - Kicking off the 2014-2015 academic year, Woodbury University today announced three key faculty appointments in the newly AACSB-accredited School of Business: Dr. Xinmei (Lucy) Xie in Accounting, Dr. Adam Wood in Management, and Keith Nishida in Fashion Marketing.
"We have strengthened the School with three dynamic additions to our faculty team," said Andre van Niekerk, dean of the School of Business. "Each brings subject matter expertise and a passion for teaching, and each values the role of mentorship and guidance. These appointments are in line with our pledge to the Woodbury community to offer a business education program that is among the best anywhere. We're committed to maintaining a high-quality teaching environment, innovative programming, and active engagement with industry. Lucy, Adam and Keith join a department that truly is world class."
In May, Woodbury's School of Business was among 12 international and four American business schools to earn accreditation from AACSB International for 2014, joining 713 institutions of higher learning in 47 countries and territories around the world that have successfully completed the multi-year internal review, evaluation and improvement process. AACSB accreditation represents the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees, a status conferred on less than 5 percent of all business programs worldwide.
- Joining the Accounting Department is Xinmei (Lucy) Xie, who earned a PhD in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to joining Woodbury, Dr. Xie taught at California State University Dominguez Hills. Two of her research papers were recently published in the Journal of International Finance & Economics (JIFE, 2013).
