Winter Wonderland's Final Night Makes 26 Years of Helping Others
Winter Wonderland concluded its year month of activities where 11,600 guests had a wonderful holiday experience.
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) December 27, 2018 - On December 22, The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) concluded the 26th year of Winter Wonderland, gathering toys and food over a three week period to donate to local charities for distribution to low income families in Pinellas County. Volunteers asked guests entering Winter Wonderland to leave an unwrapped toy or canned goods in Santa’s Sleigh to provide children with the opportunity to have a great holiday this year where they might not have otherwise.
“Winter Wonderland is a food and toy drive for needy children in our community.” said Mrs. Pam Ryan-Anderson, Executive Director of the Clearwater Community Volunteers. “That the toys and food gathered here will make Christmas possible for those children is why we create Winter Wonderland every year.”
Since the park opened on December 1st 2018, 11,600 guests entered to participate in the activities at Winter Wonderland, such as pony rides, human gyroscope, and telling Santa what they want for Christmas. On opening night alone, over 3,000 people came to Winter Wonderland to venture throughout the Christmas Village.
Winter Wonderland featured daily entertainment including the world renowned Jive Aces, magic shows, bird shows and an Elvis impersonator.
Guests also visited the new Clearwater Community Volunteers Center, located across the street from Winter Wonderland. The Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization and CCV opened the community center for nonprofit organizations in March so CCV could further extend their community outreach to others who seek to improve our community.
“With the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center we are able to provide a safe space for nonprofit organizations to meet or use at no cost.” said Ms. Clemence Chevrot, Director of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center. “Since our opening we have worked with over 45 different nonprofits from across the Tampa Bay in order to improve the lives of those around us.”
