Winning the Battles in Your Mind Hosts 5k Walk/Run to Benefit Children with Sickle Cell Anemia
Winning the Battles in Your Mind's 5K walk/run is to raise awareness and funds for children diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2016 - Winning the Battles In Your Mind, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2008, is hosting their 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Wade Walker Park (5585 Rockbridge Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30088). Partnered with the Big Peach Running Company, the 5k Run/Walk will benefit Atlanta children who have been diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia.
Registration for the race will start at 7:00 a.m. and the race will begin at 8:00 a.m., rain or shine. The tax deductible registration fee is $25 for all participants. Groups of five or more can register for $20 per person. All race participants and guests will be welcomed to bagels and various pastries courtesy of the Atlanta Bread Company upon their arrival. In addition, participants will also receive a race t-shirt.
On the heels of a successful black tie gala, Winning the Battles in Your Mind, Inc. decided to extend their efforts to raise $50,000 for children battling Sickle Cell Anemia through 2015. The black tie gala, "Saving the Future One Tie at a Time," was the second annual event to launch and raise over two thousand dollars at the Cobb Galleria in June 2016.
"The children and families who are affected with Sickle Cell Anemia need our help," said Aretha Cleveland, Founder of Winning the Battles In Your Mind, Inc. "This 5K will not only help bring awareness to this deadly disease but also help provide resources to the children and families in the community.
