The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), the official representative organization for business women in the Emirate of Dubai, is now the official supporting partner for The Arab Women in Leadership & Business Summit which is conceptualized and organized by MICE Quotient. The Summit, scheduled for the 22nd-23rd September 2014, will see a host of women business and Government leaders from around the world congregating under one roof in Dubai. End Quote

The Arab Women in Leadership and Business Summit aims at inspiring women to seek their highest level of professional development by providing them with information, strategies, insights and perspectives on leadership training and development. Over two days, the Summit packed with a powerful suite of sessions, panel discussions and highly interactive Q&A concourses, also offers focused networking lunches and coffee huddles to maximize networking takeaways for delegates in attendance. A large part of these discussions would have a specific and deep focus on financial, legal, political and entrepreneurial empowerment of women.

Presidents, Directors, C-suite executives and decision-makers will share with attendees their personal journeys of transformation to becoming influential leaders, recent policy initiatives around diversity, first-hand advice on finding the right work/life balance, best practices of refining your leadership skills, and ways to navigate through professional challenges by leveraging on your own personal unique strengths.

A recent OEDC survey shows that the number of affluent leadership positions that Arab women hold, as a percentage, is growing compared to a decade ago, but much needs to be done to increase these numbers and to promote inclusiveness. Development of a sustainable and well rounded, human capital paradigm in the Arab world, is only possible with the integral participation of women in all sectors, including cultural, economic, political and social.

Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, President of Dubai Business Women Council and an influencing business leader herself opines, "Occasions like these provide an excellent platform to acknowledge the importance of our responsibility to be the catalysts of women empowerment and for likeminded individuals and organizations to provide the guiding foundation for every women to reach their own full potential." The Summit also features The Dubai Business Women Council's Nadine Halabi as a Speaker. Nadine elucidates that, "Women in business tend to put a lot more emotion and dedication into their work. We always strive to go the extra mile as we are eager to achieve, excel and to climb the corporate ladder. However, we must remember to step back every now and then and ensure we have the required skills to support us in our daily tasks which will enable us to do a task more efficiently. Vindicating the need for more efforts in this direction, Noor M Shamma, one of the speakers and the Acting Director, Corporate Communications Department at UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority states that "Recent research indicates that women in the UAE education system are outperforming their male counterparts in subjects related to science, technology and engineering - yet the rate at which these women are entering the workforce is remarkably low. As UAE continues on its progressive path of economic diversification, the significance of the technology sector is inevitably heightened. However, we cannot expect the full implementation of a true knowledge based economy without tackling this issue head on. Thus, the leadership of Arab women is critical to accelerating female entry into these fields and in turn, ensuring the nation has the necessary human capital to advance at its disposal."

The Speakers who come from diverse industries and are established leaders in their own right would be discussing themes of education, gender inclusiveness, the stepping stones in professional development of women, and the roles played by external factors in development of women leaders and business professionals.

Along with power packed discussions, networking sessions, interactive panels and business lunches the Summit also features complimentary break away mini sessions from Marquee and The Nail Spa for the delegates to unwind after the days discussions and networking.
