WIMy, the no-coverage tracker, launches crowdfunding campaign
AppKideak aims to raise € 20,000 to start production for a little device that is linked to our smartphone and prevents loss of valuables (keys, wallet, purse, etc.) and loved ones. The campaign will be available in the website Indiegogo until March 13th.
- (1888PressRelease) February 17, 2015 - The Appkideak startup has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the website Indiegogo to begin production for WIMy, the system that keeps people constantly connected to their stuff and/or loved ones with our smartphone in order to prevent loss and/or find them more quickly.
WIMy is a device slightly larger than a coin, which is linked to the smartphone and it can be configured through an app, soon available on iOS and Android. It warns the user when it moves away from an object or loved one and, if lost, to date WIMy is the only system of its kind able to indicate the direction in which it is located.
WIMy help users to make up for this year on average people usually waste trying to find lost items. (as seen in a National Opinion Polls survey).
No coverage
On the other, the technology involved allows WIMy to work in no-coverage situations, in a 50-60 meter range. With a low-energy consumption, the button battery is easily replaceable.
This system is focused on helping parents with little kids; pet owners; school groups, etc. It can also be useful in shopping centers, parks and other public areas.
In order to start production WIMy, AppKideak has launched a pre-order campaign on the website Indiegogo, where WIMy will be available. "Early bird" pricing will start at € 25 for the very first units. For the remainder of the campaign, WIMy can be purchased for € 30 and after the campaign, WIMy will retail for around € 35.
Thanks to WIMy, the user might gain peace of mind (keep close to loved ones) and convenience (not waste any more time looking for things that do not appear or do not know where they are).
