Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) August 17, 2013 - William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that Michelle Hemmer has been promoted to serve as the assistant director of financial aid for the institution's Office of Financial Aid. In her position, Hemmer will be responsible for coordinating, awarding and processing federal, state and institutional student aid programs. These efforts will include overseeing grants, scholarships and loans, resolving issues of counseling services, and discussing financial aid awards, eligibility, processes and alternative sources, and methods of financing education costs. In addition, she will represent the Office of Financial Aid in administrative and policy matters along with the management of operations for the office in the absence of the director of financial aid.

Previously Hemmer served as William Peace University's financial aid advisor and loan coordinator, where she consulted with students and parents on questions and issues related specifically to financial aid, loans and monetary assistance for tuition, and other university expenses. In that position, she focused her efforts on improving operational efficiencies and implementing the institution's newest financial aid system.

Hemmer earned a double major in business management and human resource management from Barton College in Wilson, N.C. Prior to joining William Peace University, she worked for North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount as a financial advisor. Additionally, she is a member of the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA).
