Wild Florida Welcomes Two New Baby Lemurs to the Wildlife Park
Wild Florida, an airboat tour and wildlife park attraction located in St. Cloud, Florida is pleased to announce the arrival of two new baby lemurs to the Wildlife Park.
- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) July 24, 2013 - The Wildlife Park at Wild Florida covers 17 acres of land and showcases exotic animals such as alligators, tortoises, exotic birds, white tail deer, watusi's, zebra's, goats, water buffalo and emus just to name a few. The addition of the lemurs adds to the wide variety of the animals that visitors can experience at the Wild Florida park. The two lemurs are ring-tailed lemurs and are distinguished by their long, black and white ringed tail. Similar to all Lemurs, it is endemic to the island of Madagascar. Despite the lack of a large brain, the ring-tailed lemur can organize sequences, understand basic arithmetic operations and preferentially select tools based on functional qualities.
Sam Haught, co-founder of Wild Florida notes: "We are very excited to expand our animals at the wildlife park. Right now, the lemurs are in the Wild Florida Nursery and once they are a little older, they will join the other animals in their exhibit." The projected date of their official Wild Florida arrival is mid-August.
