Wild Florida Takes a Trip Up North
Wild Florida, Orlando's only airboat & wildlife park eco tour company, will bring an airboat to Canada for the Wiarton Willie Festival in Ontario on January 28, 2014.
- Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) January 23, 2014 - On Wednesday, January 28th, Wild Florida will make history as they depart from the Sunshine State with an airboat in tow. Alongside Visit Orlando, the eco-tour company will be attending the Wiarton Willie Festival in Ontario, Canada. The team plans to introduce a warming zone complete with sub-tropical temperatures, calypso music, hot chocolate, a spectacular ice carving display, an airboat and even live alligators.
Wiarton Willie was a Canadian groundhog who lived in the community of Wiarton in Bruce County, Ontario. Every February 2, on Groundhog Day, Willie took part in the local Wiarton Willie Festival. His role, like Punxsutawney Phil's, is to predict whether there will be an early spring. The Wiarton Willie Festival has been called "One the most popular events in Ontario," and has twice been named "The World's Greatest Event" by Seattle's Festivals.com.
