WiFi Sales To Reach $2.1 Billion by 2016, Growth Will Be Complemented By Dynamic Markets Such As Turkey
Sales are growing but WiFi-cellular integration will bring local challengers and partners into the market.
- (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2012 - Companies that are reactive with local knowledge that create regional networks will compliment coverage of the major international players.
Infonetics Market Leading Research has forecast carrier WiFi sales will "explode" to $2.1 billion by 2016, driven by the increased operator need to complement mobile data services and overcome spectrum challenges.
The respected research company said that global revenue in 2011 for what it terms "carrier WiFi equipment" grew 35% from 2010, and forecast that sales would continue to grow in "high double digits" to at least 2016.
WifiYol http://www.wifiyol.tr.uk.com the marketing arm of a Turkish national licensed company is one such example of that type of company using its company structure of large scale bulk Wifi hotspots and creating a national directory which will then complement the mobile access of the major operators and players.
Due to the demands of new devices Wifi connectivity is increasingly seen as giving the user a much better and economical experience. The integration and grouping of access points is a major requirement to offer a efficient connection and user experience. The more fragmented a network the more complicated it becomes for the and user and for marketing the access packages.
Turkish Wifi is a good example of the Global potential and integration as it is at a relatively early stage however if it follows the efficient path of mobile usage and development in Turkey the explosion will surely match these predicted figures.
The Wifi model and aggregation in many other European Countries and the Americas is more advanced but it has taken many years to become efficiently integrated by companies such as Boingo,Fon and Trustive.
Wifiyol has the backing of the market leader in large scale networks that because of advances in technology are becoming easier to deploy Now the company is recruiting uniquely Turkish chains of traditional access points to add to its own Wifi Hot Spots and then it will be ready to bolt it onto any incoming aggregator agreements.
Ericsson/BelAir Networks, Cisco, and Ruckus Wireless together accounted for more than two-thirds of 2011 equipment revenues, but Infonetics expects these three to be challenged by mobile infrastructure vendors who could benefit from a market shift to integrated WiFi/cellular base stations.
Infonetics also surveyed 24 operators on their WiFi deployment strategies. It found that two-thirds of the service providers that they interviewed have already deployed 20,000 to over 150,000 WiFi access points (APs) in public spaces.
Street coverage is seen as one of the areas of "greatest deficit" for WiFi coverage; by 2013, the percentage of service providers planning to deploy WiFi for street coverage jumps to 79% WifiYol is the market leader in Turkey of Street Coverage and has a program of expansion to cover all Tourist Hot Spots.
Wifiyol is live with Kusadasi Wifi and main nodes established for Izmir Wifi, Marmaris Wifi,Didim Wifi,Altinkum Wifi,Akbuk Wifi,Antalya Wifi and many more Touristic Wifi Locations are planned.
The strongest growth driver will be mobile operators deploying access points for data offload, Speed of upload and download are becoming critical in many demanding applications and the roaming connections just cannot produce this in a cost effective manner.
The survey shows that whilst data offload is the current priority, in coming years operators will want to see a closer integration of WiFi with the mobile network so that offload becomes more intelligent, automated, and seamless,.
The major companies want to utilise WiFi not only to augment mobile services, but to enhance and improve the network as a whole by becoming an integrated part of their mobile networks and thus give their customers seamless and integrated connectivity.
Wifiyol http://www.wifiyol.tr.uk.com intends to develop its position and strategy to become the major Wifi aggregator for incoming http://www.holidayinternet.tr.uk.com and outgoing travelers from Turkey.
