Wideband GPS Tracking & M2M Antenna covers more wireless applications

(1888PressRelease) December 15, 2010 - Schiller Park, IL - This two-cable GPS & M2M antenna combines two applications at a time: GPS on one cable and any one of several wireless data applications on the other cable.

The LMW Series Wideband Surface Mount Antennas stands out from some of the other Mobile Mark compact M2M Antennas in that it is extremely broadbanded and covers worldwide cellular bands from 800-960 MHz and 1700-2200 MHz, including UMTS and AWS. It has excellent performance characteristics and performs well across the entire band.

The M2M antenna portion offers 2 dBi gain on the 800-960 MHz band and 4 dBi gain on the 1700-2200 MHz band. The GPS portion provides 26 dB amplifier gain with 5 dBi RHCP nominal antenna gain. The antennas have low noise figure with excellent filter characteristics.

"We already have a number of compact surface mount M2M antennas that combine GPS with Cellular 850/1900 MHz," according to Michael Berry, President & CEO. "As new wireless systems such as AWS come on line, our customers are asking for M2M antennas that would allow them to cover the additional 1.7 & 2.2 GHz bands. They also like the small profile of the new LMW Series Antennas."

This compact and attractive antenna can fit in to just about any setting. The complete antenna measures only 3.5-inches in diameter by 1.5-inches in height (8.9cm x 3.8 cm).

The antennas are typically built with RG-174 cable for GPS and a separate RG-58 cable for Data. Each cable terminates with its own connector and is attached to a separate GPS or Data device. As an option, the M2M antenna portion can be built with low loss RF-195 cable. Standard connector configurations are SMA/SMA. Other configurations are available as a special order.

The antenna is surface mounted with a 5/8" diameter, ½" long (16 mm x 13 mm) stud. It can be mounted to material up to ¼" (6mm) thick.
