Whimsical Winds Windchimes Partners with Ashley's Auction to Raise Awareness for The Children's Miracle Network
Whimsical Winds, the largest retailer of windchimes on the web, continued their partnership with an inspiring young woman with a bright outlook. Windchimes and other donations are helping give ailing children a chance to live a positive life.
- Trenton-Ewing, NJ (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2012 - Whimsical Winds took part in Ashley Brubacker's 8th Annual Auction on August 4th in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. The annual auction benefits The Children's Miracle Network, with Whimsical Winds participating yearly by providing a number of home and garden items and windchimes to the silent auction.
Ashley's Auction is an annual event held to raise money for debilitated children, with proceeds going to the Children's Miracle Network. The Children's Miracle Network supports children with a variety of ailments and diseases, like asthma or birth defects. The event was developed by Ashley Brubacker, an autistic 24 year old who speaks through a DynaVox, a communication device for speech disabilities. Ashley created the auction because the Children's Miracle Network helped develop the positive outlook she possesses today. She hopes that her charity work can lead her to meet Ellen DeGeneres one day and raise $200,000 for the Children's Miracle Network.
"When I learned about Ashley, I was truly touched by her spirit," said Alexander Innes of Whimsical Winds. "You don't always see that charitable attitude today, which makes Ashley an incredible individual. Her desire to give back to those who helped her is something that is truly inspiring."
Whimsical Winds has participated yearly in Ashley's Auction, which collects items from various local businesses to go towards the silent auction. The money raised each year is presented at the 94KX Cares for Kids Radiothon.
Ashley's Auction has raised $104,562 over the last eight years and Ashley hopes to continue receiving donations throughout the year. Whimsical Winds plans to continue their partnership with Ashley's Auction in the coming years.
