  • (1888PressRelease) February 15, 2011 - What do you get when you cross a muslim middle-class well-educated woman from Casablanca and a East London rapper/producer from Bow? 'Brit Krunk'. Having developed the sound over the years, Sterling Reigns (Femi) brings together African beats, Brazilian drums, and Atlanta swag all together in 'Brit Krunk'. He met Master Mimz (Mimi) as she was becoming a growing sensation at Southern Hospitality's premiere Hip Hop Karaoke nights. Performing tracks such as 'Big Pimpin' and 'Warning', she was noted for her unique delivery and stage presence. Together they represent something lacking in the world of hip-hop: a rich contrast between East and West, male and female.

Sterling Reigns started his career as a rapper with the Hard II Kill crew in the 90s, also known as the 'Wu Tang Clan' of the UK. Throughout his career he released three EPs and landed opening acts for international stars such as Mary J. Blige. His "uncompromising" sound is often compared to Just Blaze Master Mimz moved to London in September 2009 to pursue an MSc at LSE. After discovering her talent at the Hip Hop Karaoke night however, she realized her passion for rapping was no longer out of reach. Her "bold" style can be defined as a blend between Eminem and M.I.A. The two met in November 2010 and started releasing a series of freestyles which landed them a feature on Wired.com describing them as "revolutionary rap".

The "fearless and complementary" duo has shows planned in March 2010 at the LSE, Juno Bar, and The Camp with the Southern Hospitality crew. Their debut single "I C U (Rub OFF)" has already received radio play in Canada (StreetzFM), Turkey (Acik Radio), Morocco (Hit Radio), and the US (Democracy Now). Forthcoming reviews include Wired.com and The Guardian.
