  • (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2011 - New York, NY - The Westfall Foundation, (http://www.westfallfoundation.org), announced today they will be hosting their first official fundraiser to benefit Neuromuscular disease. The event will take place at Mulligan Family Fun Center located at 24950 Madison Avenue, Murrieta, CA 92562. On Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm, attendees can enjoy unlimited lazer tag, miniature golf, go-karts, rookie go-karts, rock wall, kangaroo jumps, carousel, tea cups, and train rides for a low $13.99 admission. All attendees will receive a discounted wristband by bringing the Westfall flyer to any register and $3 from each purchase will go to the Westfall Foundation. Funds raised will go directly towards the Westfall Foundation cause to improve lives by eliminating neuromuscular disease. Westfall Foundation is allied with organizations such as SAM, MDA, NAF, and FARA, so that a cure and treatments can be found for diseases classified as neuromuscular and neurodegenerative.

"I wanted to find a way for families to enjoy contributing to a great cause" stated Kerry Westfall, founder of the Westfall Foundation. "What better way is there than spending quality time with each other? Not only are they doing something good for people who suffer from Friedreich's Ataxia, but they also get to enjoy the company of their children".

The Westfall Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding programs that assist in finding cures for Neuromuscular disease. Other recent marketing and awareness efforts by the not for profit have included the "Commit To Your Health" DVD, which features Kerry Westfall performing various exercises for both sufferers of Friedreich's Ataxia and other alike. The rare content within the "Commit To Your Health" DVDs include several exercises to help those with Friedreich's Ataxia. The lessons within the video are not only applicable to persons with neuromuscular diseases. The wonderful part is that Westfall Foundation Founder Kerry Westfall himself performs all exercises while in his wheelchair; however he made it a solid point to produce a DVD where people who are not in need of a wheelchair may also perform all exercises.

Funds are still needed for researching Neuromuscular disease and the Westfall Foundation is making sure they do their part. A key aspect in both this fundraiser and the DVD is staying active, which is important for all people who want to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Mulligan Family Fun Center features various fun activities that will keep everyone active.

Mulligan Family Fun Center has various attractions for everyone, whether it's lazer tag, go-karts, the batting cage, the arcade or the rock wall. For the casual attendee, there is miniature golf and bowling and for the young children there is the Fort Mulligan play area and Kiddie Korral which includes train and tea cup rides and kangaroo jump. The Mulligan Family Fun Center in Murrieta is one of three locations in California, with the other two being in Torrance & Palmdale.
