Well-Known Father Son Team Announce Name Change of Popular Meat Market
Local meat market changes name from The Meat House.

Customers have visited them at their Cary and Raleigh Meat House locations for years to get the best foods and advice for preparing their meals. That localized attention to customer service will now go a step further as the Wilkins announce their separation from the New England based franchise and will now operate their stores under a new name; The Butchers Market.
By reaching an agreement to move away from The Meat House franchise they are able to continue to grow and develop their stores in their own vision and fulfill their dream of providing a great shopping experience, unique premium products and superior customer service.
"When the opportunity presented itself to operate our locations independently, we jumped at the chance," said Craig Wilkins, of The Butchers Market. "Our customers will still see the same team members they have come to know and trust, along with all our great local foods and premium meat and seafood selections."
In addition to their premium meat selections, The Butchers Market has a new and expanded range of specialty items hard to find anywhere else, prepared foods made on site by their own chef, select craft beers and wines, authentic gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars, locally cured and smoked bacon, in house dry aged meats, a full line of grilling and smoked meat accessories, an artesian deli with the best deli meats around and a new and improved lunch menu.
"As we looked at the opportunity, we saw this as a great way to expand and customize our offerings to meet the request of our customer's," said Derek Wilkins. "No longer constrained by the structure of a franchise operation we will continue to develop our offerings at each location based on the local items available and the requests of our customers. Hence making each location unique."

The Butchers Market
The Butchers Market was founded in 2009 under the name The Meat House and renamed in 2014 to The Butchers Market. The father-and-son team of Craig and Derek Wilkins, along with their wives Tauynia and Cynthia, has been in Wake County since 1977. While the name is new, the business behind The Butchers Market is not. The Wilkins and their staff have been in the quality meat and food industry for years and have recently shifted from a franchise operation to being an independent operated business unit.
