Welbeck Group partner gives a helping hand to babies in Uganda
Marianne Loder returns to the orphanage she last visited in Uganda 2 years ago.
- (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2011 - On 21 April, Marianne Loder from wealth management and financial services provider, Welbeck Group, is returning to a place close to her heart: the Watoto Bulrushes orphanage in Uganda. Two years ago, Marianne spent the summer looking after seven abandoned and orphaned babies.
"I'm so excited about my return visit," said Marianne. "Not only am I going to catch up with the children I cared for and the three babies I sponsor. I'm also seeing the fruits of recent fundraising efforts - a new generator for newly opened orphanage just north of the capital."
During her first visit to the orphanage, Marianne forged a strong bond with the babies. "They needed lots of love and cuddles as well as practical things like milk formula, nappies and baby-grows. It was hard work but rewarding too. The experience changed my life."
Marianne is now set to take on another challenge: raising money to build a new orphanage. "The Watoto Bulrushes plans to build another new orphanage in Uganda over the next twelve months. I'm going to do all I can to raise money for the project. I've witnessed first-hand the fantastic work they do. It's an honour to play my part in ensuring the work continues."
