Website Accepting Votes for "Most Photogenic City"
FreePhotoCourse.com's online photo exhibit series, "Great Cities Exposed" is getting ready to rotate the gallery to the next photogenic city, and is seeking input from amateur and professional photographers. "NYC Exposed" was enthusiastically received, but it's time to move on. Photographers interested in participating can cast their vote from a pre-screened list of twenty-one beautiful cities.
- (1888PressRelease) October 22, 2011 - If you take a camera along on your travels, you've no doubt noticed that some cities are more photogenic than others. Some hold the promise of "street" photography on every corner in unexpectedly interesting, yet, candid moments, while other cities provide breathtaking opportunities in the form of refined culture, architectural history and precisely manicured scenery. There are the tourist magnets that seem to tire from the throngs of nomadic paparazzi and then there are cities that appear to hide their most inspirational vistas just off the main path.
Whatever the subject matter, it's clear that some cities outshine others when it comes to artistic photographic potential. This is where your opinion could make a difference. FreePhotoCourse.com launched the "Great Cities Exposed" online photography exhibit series earlier this year with the popular "NYC Exposed" gallery. It was enthusiastically received by New Yorkers and others around the world, but now it's time to explore the nooks and crannies of a new cityscape.
Over the past few months, the website has received many suggestions for various other cities in North America, Europe and Australia. From these, the editors have opened-up a survey with a list of twenty-one candidate cities in order to make the selection process more interactive. San Francisco, Charleston, Vancouver, Sidney, Paris, London, Florence and Vienna are just some of the city options from which to choose.
Online ballots will be accepted until November 15, following which an announcement will be made in the form of a Call for Submissions. At that time, anyone wishing to submit their best photos of the successful city will be able to do so. Photos selected for publication will be featured in the next Great Cities Exposed online exhibit and these photographers will be given credit as part of an exclusive group participating in this project. Photos will be selected on their artistic and technical merit, and on the choice and treatment of the subject matter.
