Webinar 2021 : Goal setting and performance management
A webinar was conducted on 15th May 2021 at 11 a.m at jbit. The session was led by Mr. Ashok Kumar Sangwan Head(Cost of Delivery) Wipro Limited.
The objective of the session was to apply the tips and techniques from this discussion to create a productive year-end performance conversation.
He said that Performance management is a communication process by which managers and employees work together to plan, monitor and review an employee's work objectives and overall contribution to the organization. He addressed all the participants that they should know their path and where they have to go.
He talked about the two important performance management activities which involves evaluating the performance of the employee and helping them develop actions plans to improve.
He also mentioned some goal setting tips to the students for their bright future. He told about the method SMART i.e. specific , measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound.
He said “you should know exactly what you want. If your goal is vague, you will be confused. I want to be rich that’s not well defined. Break your larger goals in smaller one, so you can know whenever you accomplish something”
The speech was followed by various interactive sessions where students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. He also asked students about their goals and suggests ideas to them.
