Web Series "The Dealership" Finishes First Hit Season
The hit web series "Dealership" has wrapped its first full season with a bang. The show, which had a rocky beginning in 2006, officially premiered its first full season on May 18, 2010 and has subsequently gained more and more viewers every week.
- (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2010 - The hilarious sitcom spoofs car dealerships. One critic called it "what 'The Goods' should have been." Another said the show is, "a perfect balance between the mundane and completely ludicrous."
"Dealership," centers around its hapless owner, Charles Barkley, played by series creator Roger Johnson. Charles is plagued by a promiscuous wife, declining sales figures, and a staff of irrepressible salesmen who can't seem to handle the rigors of daily life, much less the situations that come up at the car lot. The ensemble cast includes Series creator Todd Spence who plays Marty Freebrook, a borderline diabetic and devout husband and father of 19 girls.; Shawn Kohne as Grant Kind, a self-proclaimed womanizer and amateur politician, and the hilarious Paul Goetz ("Up In the Air"), as Russell Rimshot, a wiry, dim-witted career salesman, who consequently is the only one of the bunch that seems to understand the negative connotations of their dismal sales numbers. They also employ a part-time mechanic, Otis Flytrap (Danny Barton), in between his stints at county lockup.
Episodes of "Dealership" were written by Todd Spence, Roger Johnson and Zak White, and directed by White, Nick Gartner and Sean Gartner. The executive producer is Dan Gartner of Counterhound Productions. The highly acclaimed composer, Grant Essig, provided the theme and original music.
Plans for a second season of "Dealership" are being kept secret, although the producers will admit that they are "in talks with a couple of cable networks." There are also rumors of a "Dealership Christmas Special."
