WBA (Women's Basketball Association) Announces New Structure to the Launch of the League
The Women's Basketball Association backed by Blanchette Sports Holdings has announced the new structure for the launch of the league in 2014. Now looking for teams across the United States.
- (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2013 - The WBA has announced a new structure to the launch of the league. While it will still be a professional league, the franchise fees are much more affordable and team owners will have a much lower operating overhead over the course of a season.
The Women's Basketball Association will play a 40 game schedule from June through September. In order to keep travel costs as low as possible, most games will be played on weekends, on back to back nights, in the same city. The WBA already has uniform, apparel, and travel deals in place. Games will consist of 4 quarters of 12 minutes each and will be played under the most current set of NCAA women's rules.
The league will also provide a website for each incoming team. We will not only be looking to add new expansion franchises but we are looking to bring in existing franchises as well. So if you have or are on an existing women's basketball team and want to take it to the next level, the WBA is the place to be. Players will also be getting paid to play.
