Dave Myers, Principle Forensic Fire Investigator at Wayman Experts, has recently completed a specialist Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course in Fire and Explosion Investigation.
- (1888PressRelease) October 12, 2012 - The top training programme was delivered by John DeHaan, author of 'Kirks Fire Investigation' (2nd to 7th editions), a keystone textbook on the investigation of fire and explosions. John was supported in delivering the course by Jack Malooly, ex Special Agent with the American Bureau for Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Both John and Jack are recognised world leaders in the subject and have led - or been actively involved with - some of the most high profile fire and explosion investigations in America in recent years. The course was organised by Gardiner Associates Training and Research (GATR), the leading provider of fire and explosion investigation training in the United Kingdom. The 5 day course included both theoretical and practical aspects covering the latest research in:-
• Fire science, fire dynamics, ignition sources and accelerated fires
• Explosions, explosives and improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
• Fatal fire investigations
Dave described the programme as one of the most interesting and informative courses he has attended in recent years, providing the latest up-to-date knowledge on the forensic investigation of fires and explosions.
