- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2025 - To highlight WQA’s Convention & Expo this week and celebrate their 50th Anniversary, Water Quality Association (WQA) launched a stunning interactive art installation on their website. This feature brings to life WQA’s rich history, impact, and accomplishments—digitally.
Created by Lawrence Romorini and his team at One Of A Kind, Inc. Art Studio in collaboration with WQA, this custom artwork transforms the Association’s historical memorabilia into a captivating, user-friendly digital experience.
Visit WQA's website at www.wqa.org, then under "About WQA", select “50th Anniversary” to view the art. Click on any element in the design, and the image pops up larger with a detailed description to learn more.
The artwork functions as an educational tool with a global reach. Members, industry partners, and the general public can pull up the historical milestones on their computer or smart phone. Attendees at the WQA Convention & Expo, held in Long Beach, CA, from April 22-24, are the first audience to view the interactive feature on display.
From the very first splash, this dynamic artwork makes waves! An animated water drop strikes the water and reveals the WQA logo. As the drop ripples outward, more of the legacy is revealed. Once the water stills, pop-up directions instruct viewers to tap or click on each item for a description.
"This interactive piece is more than 50th anniversary art—it’s a celebration of WQA’s important legacy and an invitation to explore it," says Romorini.
The association’s story begins at the top and flows counterclockwise. The early years are represented with a tree trunk water pipe slice and logos of the two predecessor organizations. Archival photographs, publications, WQRF studies, and physical objects are visually layered throughout the collage.
Special features include the Certifications of People and Certifications of Product, WQA’s advocacy and events. Glistening water drops, sprinkled throughout the piece, display milestones. Original 3D Items include awards, tree, a vintage pipe slice, a microscope, pins, ribbons, and U.S. Capitol.
