Water Heater Customers will Now Feel Relief
Electric water heater customers will feel a lot of relief as AquaSmart® has recently launched their AquaSmart® RES model which can help users remotely control water heater's run time and temperature, saving considerable amount of money spent on power bill.
- (1888PressRelease) January 17, 2015 - Everyone prefers washing hands in hot water, and taking hot shower, but this hot water comes with a price. Per the US department of energy, electric water heaters are considered the second most energy consuming device with HVAC being first. Electric water heaters can add a significant impact your electricity bill each month. Fortunately, researchers have developed the AquaSmart® which allow you to control water heater's operation, significantly reducing your power bill.
Most electric water heaters can only be adjusted using the thermostat dials under the heater's access panel. Adjusting temperature in this manner is difficult, thus people avoid adjusting the setting. This is where the AquaSmart® will prove its value. The wall mounted wireless transmitter consists of a LCD screen which displays 4 available MODES of operation, including energy consumed in kWh. This wall mounted unit can also be used to control heater's temperature. Users can fit this unit anywhere up to 100 feet from water heater.
About the unit
The 4 operating MODES allow the water heater to operate at normal temperatures settings in the (1) ON mode; (2), allows the homeowner to reduce the water temperature by 30% in the AWAY mode; (3), in the VACATION mode, maintains a water temperature between 40°F and 50°F for times when the homeowner is to be away for an extended period of time and (4), using the PROGRAM mode, the owner can enter daily, ON/OFF times and temperatures, to meet the occupancy schedule of the home or business.
The Aqua Smart® receiver is a retrofit device that mounts on top of most standard water heaters, over the water heater's junction box, and requires a simple re-wiring of the incoming power supply wires to the receiver's electronic control panel.
Installation should take less than 1 hour by a person familiar with water heater wiring. The Aqua Smart® receiver is housed in a hi-temp, ABS plastic case and features the same 4 mode designations that are on the transmitter and are highlighted with LED lights. The Aqua Smart® system operates on 208-240 VAC which is supplied by the incoming power supply lines to the water heater. The receiver includes a by-pass switch, in case of a system failure, allowing the system to return the water heater to its normal operating condition.
Aqua Smart® also offers TOU model
Another model, the Aqua Smart - TOU, was developed for installations by Co-Ops, Utility and Solar companies that are seeking ways to "manage" customer power usage to best meet "peak load"/ grid demand in their service areas. A unique program can be programmed into the Aqua Smart® - TOU model allowing these companies better to manage both the time and temperature operation of their customer's water heater.
