Wasabi Ventures Adds an Edutech Venture Partner
Alex Hollis joins the Wasabi Ventures team as new EduTech Partner.
- (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2012 - Alex Hollis, joins the Wasabi Ventures team of over 40 specialists, as a Venture Partner who will focus on edutech. The existing team includes developers, sales, marketing, and management professionals.
Alex has a strong passion for education reform coupled with a background in business management. Alex's role with Wasabi Ventures will focus on evangelizing the educational technologies (edutech) start-up communities on a global basis and bringing prospective portfolio companies into the WV process. Alex's goal is "to substantially grow Wasabi's edutech portfolio while also providing any assistance I can to the edutech start-ups we take on to help them grow" says Hollis.
"Alex brings an innovative focus to the firm. The edutech space is one in which we are seeing many opportunities arise in the start-up ecosystem. I look forward to seeing what Alex and his experience can add to our portfolio," says Managing Partner, Tom "TK" Kuegler.
Alex provides the team with an edutech focus, which stems from his experience with Teach for America, as well as business technology acumen from his past efforts. Alex graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a concentration in finance.
