Warren M. Levin, M.D. Introduces His New Approach for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Lyme disease
Warren M. Levin M.D., of Virgina announces a sensitive version of a method of testing for occult Lyme disease and introduces a highly effective "treatment/test"
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) June 09, 2012 - Dr. Warren Levin specializes in Integrative Medicine and has worked extensively with Lyme disease patients. In fact, Dr. Levin himself has had and been treated for Lyme disease twice. Lyme disease (Borreliosis or Bb) has traditionally been treated with antibiotics, which have been found to trigger a multitude of side effects, further complicating the management of Bb.
Dr. Levin alerts that the mainstream medical community has not yet fully recognized that treatment with antibiotics without intensive prophylactic efforts to prevent the common exacerbation of the growth of Candida albicans, that causes many of the same symptoms as Lyme itself. Patients who are already underway with their treatment of antibiotics are affected by Candida in highly unique ways, since Candida targets each patient's individual weaknesses. Thus, Lyme, under antibiotic management, calls for a more integrative and personal approach, taking full account of the effects of both Candida and Bb, as well as other factors that have historically been overlooked by the medical community. These factors include hormone imbalances, external toxin overload, vitamin/ mineral deficiencies, internally generated toxins caused by deranged metabolic pathways, side effects of symptomatically directed medications, drug-drug interactions, neuropathies, including those related to chronic dental infections, and major gastrointestinal disturbances that can be caused by inflammation of the lining of the GI tract or, in a classical "vicious cycle," can further worsen the inflammatory changes. In addition, serious symptoms of mood changes, memory disorders, cognitive disturbances and other "mental' symptoms are common manifestations of Lyme disease that should be investigated and treated without psychotropic drugs when possible.
Dr. Levin is now offering an alternative toward the treatment of Lyme disease that includes a complete hormone assessment, a test for heavy metal toxicities, as well other toxic chemicals that may be potentially burdening the immune system. He also does an evaluation for nutritional deficiencies.
